About the School
Welcome
L. C. Kerr Elementary School is one of three elementary schools located in the City of Clinton, NC. We service students in grades Pre-K through Kindergarten. The principal, faculty, and staff of L. C. Kerr Elementary School extend a Dark Horse welcome to each family and student. We seek your support as we strive daily to teach each child under our care for the year. We are here to serve you and to provide the best teaching and learning environment possible. Please advise us if we can provide any additional assistance.
School Hours 7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
The school day for students begins at 7:45 a.m. All students will be released to their classes at this time. Car Riders will begin unloading at 7:25am. The dismissal bell rings at 2:45 p.m. During dismissal, Car Riders will be escorted to vehicles by staff members. Please pull through the car rider lines rather than parking and walking up to get your child. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE OFF THE SCHOOL GROUNDS BY 3:05 P.M.
Students Reporting to School Before 7:45 a.m.
All students arriving before 7:45 a.m. should report to the multi-purpose room. Students are not allowed in the main building until the bell rings.
Students Reporting to School After 7:45 a.m.
Students who come to school after 7:45 a.m. are considered tardy and must be signed in by their parent or the adult bringing them to school. Late arrivals should report to the office. The student will receive a tardy pass/permission to enter the class late. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in following this procedure.
Leaving School Early
If your child leaves school before 11:30 a.m., she/he is considered absent for the day. A student must be present for half the school day to be counted as present. In the afternoon, students will not be released after 2:15 pm.
